How to find us

We are situated in mid Cumbria but to the East of the M6. We are approximately 90 miles north of Manchester, 140 miles south of Edinburgh and Glasgow. We are 45 miles from Scotch Corner if coming from the east. We are situated midway between Kendal and Penrith.

If coming from the South or North on the M6 take exit 38 off the motorway.  If coming from Kendal to Tebay then follow instructions from here.   Off the motorway you face a large roundabout, take the A685 to Scotch Corner, Kirkby Stephen travel along this main straight road for a mile until you come to a collection of houses on the right, there is a sign to Orton, at this point take a sharp left on the B6261 (this is a Y junction and you almost have to stop to turn), if you go past the large double storey cream house on the left you have gone too far, this is the first house on the left from the roundabout.   Once on the B6261 come along the road, over the bridge, there is a farm hamlet (Raisgill Hall) on the right, if using satnav this is where it will bring you so you need to continue half a mile, there are farm buildings on the left and we are the next turn on the right.   Again this is a sharp turn and you almost need to stop before turning, there is an old concrete milk stand on your left.   Then down the lane 50 yards and our turning is on the right, come through the car park, down the hill and turn left before the gate.

You are with us, don’t be alarmed as you are at the back of the house that just looks like a long barn but the entrance door is in the middle.   When unpacked take your car up to the car park unless disabled and 2 cars can be left down as long as they don’t block us in.

If coming from Scotch Corner, Brough, Kirkby Stephen you continue on the A685 and about 12 miles from Kirkby Stephen you will see the hamlet of Gaisgill on the left except for the white house on the right and you turn immediately after it and follow the above.
